About Physical Chemistry
The Physical Chemistry program at SDSU investigates the fundamental principles that govern molecular interactions and transformations. Faculty use advanced spectroscopy, computational modeling, and materials studies to explore topics such as reactive intermediates, nanomaterials, and biomolecular structure. Their research connects theory with real-world systems, from interstellar chemistry to renewable energy technologies. By blending experimentation with computation, this program provides students with the tools to probe and predict the underlying laws of chemistry, preparing them for careers at the frontiers of science and technology.
