About Analytical Chemistry
The Analytical Chemistry program at SDSU is dedicated to advancing the science of measurement and detection at the molecular level. Research in this area spans a broad range of techniques, including separations, spectroscopy, microscopy, mass spectrometry, and microfluidics. These methods are applied to solve pressing problems in medicine, biology, and technology—from mapping diseases across whole organisms to detecting trace compounds vital for health, security, and the environment. By combining fundamental science with innovative applications, the program prepares students to become leaders in the evolving field of chemical analysis.
