Giving Priorities Within the College of Sciences

The College of Sciences focuses its fundraising efforts in four major areas: Graduate Fellowships; Endowed Chairs and Professors; Student Success; and Program and Facility Support.

Within these areas are specific funding needs for endowments; support for undergraduate, graduate, or faculty research; student scholarships; international student internships; and outreach activities to support the community and its educational programs.

Student Success

Student success recognizes achievement and creates opportunities for transformative growth. Support high-achieving students at the undergraduate and graduate level through scholarships, internships, equipment donations, and research support.

Graduate Fellowships

Support for graduate students is essential to growing our programs and recruiting the best and brightest. Our research intensive Master’s programs provide valuable hands-on experiences for graduate students. Supporting the training of graduate students in our Master’s programs allows them to attend conferences, work on internships, and complete original research projects.

Program and Facility Support

The College of Sciences has over 15 research centers and institutes in addition to the various research labs on campus. These facilities allow our faculty and students to engage in collaborative and cutting-edge research.

Endowed Chairs and Professors

SDSU faculty are involved in complex, cutting-edge research with positive implications for the nation's entrepreneurial, human and social advancement. Funding endowed chairs and professorships allow faculty to broaden the scope and impact of their research programs, recruit high-achieving research leaders, and support scholarships that give more students opportunities to participate in hands-on research experiences.
