San Diego State University is part of a collaboration with the U.S Geological Survey, the USDA Forest Service and the Climate Science Alliance called the Southern Montane Forest Project, which confronts the nationwide wildfire crisis. 

The group, which includes SDSU Research Scientist and Co-Director of the Institute for Ecological Monitoring and Management Megan Jennings, recently rolled out a Climate-Adapted Conservation Strategy focused on protecting higher-elevation forests in Southern California.
