Jorge is working on creating a de novo design of membrane-traversing macrocycles and developing high throughput screening assays in the Hu Lab. He received a biology undergraduate degree from UCSD and has returned to academia from a stint in industry working as an analytical development associate. He is interested in translational science, membrane permeability, and drug development towards neurodegenerative diseases. In his free time, Jorge likes to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu/ Muay Thai, watch movies/shows, and being outdoors spending time with family/friends.
