About the College of Sciences

The College of Sciences has eight departments and a range of subprograms in the areas of: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Computer Science, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, and Psychology. The college offers 20 bachelor’s degrees, 20 master’s degrees, and 8 doctoral programs, alongside 10 professional certificate options. Each year, the College of Sciences earns more than $50 million in extramural research funding, enabling students and faculty to conduct impactful research on and off campus. This research enables students to gain valuable hands-on experience, preparing them for careers in STEM, benefiting the community, and bolstering the university’s status as an R1 institution.
