Bio
Jazmin is a graduate student in the Masters of Arts in Psychology program at SDSU. She completed a B.A. in Liberal Arts and Science Honors with a concentration in Psychology at Florida Atlantic University.
Jazmin conducted research in the WAVES Emotion lab at FAU for three years, where she worked on projects studying mother-infant interactions using behavioral observations and survey measures. Her honors thesis focused on the relationship between maternal sensitivity behaviors and maternal mental health symptoms.
Jazmin was also a writer and editor for her university’s mental health blog and a counselor for the national Crisis Text Line. After graduating, she continued her involvement in research and psychology-related spaces by assisting a professor from FAU’s College of Social Work with research on Behavioral Parenting Training (BPT) in the foster care system, and volunteering with her local Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospital in their substance abuse domiciliary.
Her specific research interests include adolescent mental health and well-being, social media use, emotion regulation, and social interactions.
