Bio

Ahria is a doctoral student in the SDSU/UCSD Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology. Her research interests include examining how childhood exposure to trauma impacts interpretations of emotional ambiguity in adulthood. By using various research methodologies (e.g., self-report, in-lab assessments, neuroimaging), we can investigate the mechanisms in which experiencing trauma in early life can impact one's valence perceptions in later years, as well as potential buffers to protect oneself against negative outcomes.
